Location Guide

Choosing your location can be difficult and will impact your final gallery. It is important to consider your pets personality as well as the style of photo you desire. Locations range from urban to beachy and everything in between!

Please don't hesitate to ask us for our favourite recommendations personalised to your pet. If you have a favourite location of your own, please let us know- as we are more than happy to shoot in a location special to you.

Old petrie town

45 minutes from CBD

I don’t think I’ve found any other place with quite as many background options!

Old Petrie Town is a small historic town- from old houses, fire stations, old train tracks and textured walls, all the way to fields with wooden fences and giant trees. This place has it all.

All photography on site requires a permit (which I have), as such it is generally extremely quiet, so ideal for the shy dog. However, weekend shoots are unavailable as it is a popular wedding location.

Inner City Country

25 mins from CBD

A little slice of country only 25 minutes from the city.

It does involve a 30 minute walk to the Secret Forest area past all the beautiful country fences, but it is a gentle and flat walk. However due to the distance, it may not be suited to elderly dogs. Can be GREAT for silhouettes.

New Farm Park

15 Mins from CBD

One of the most versatile locations within a short drive of the Brisbane City.
We are able to get a wide variety of shots from urban and grungy brick walls and sculptures, to parklands and hidden areas with large tree roots. July see's amazing orange flowers, late October/ November leaves the park blossoming with purple Jacaranda trees whilst the roses during Spring and early Summer make perfect backgrounds.

It is suitable for most dogs, however it can be busy so social dogs and those with a decent level of obedience will result in a wider range of shots. Because it is busy, it is more suitable for midweek sessions than weekends, however it is always available.

Kangaroo Point Cliffs

Another great Brisbane photography location extremely close to the city.

We are able to get semi-urban style shots, parkland and greenery, sculptures, sandstone walls and city skylines overlooking Brisbane river.

It is suitable for social dogs, and those with a decent level of obedience will result in a wider range of shots. Very nervous dogs may be overwhelmed in this location. More suited to midweek sessions than weekends.

Gold Coast Pine Forest
Just over an hour from Brisbane CBD and 20 mins from Surfers Paradise

This is one of my favourite locations, and well worth the travel. Fields bordered by incredible pine forests and an amazing lake. Dogs are allowed off leash in the lake area, allowing those water babies to truly shine! There is plenty of possible variety and amazing colour coming from the pine forest floor.

Other dogs and sports fields can make this park busy, so may not be suited to dogs who get overwhelmed in public spaces. Best suited to weekday sessions for this reason.

Bribie Island

1 hour and 20 mins from CBD

From the driftwood studded shores and the sandy dunes to the waves itself. Bribie island is an excellent location for the active dog and those water babies!

Stunning sunsets on the jetty provides the perfect opportunity for silhouettes.

Shorncliffe Pier
40 mins from CBD

The shorncliffe pier area makes for an excellent trip out as we meander across the shorefront exploring grassy areas, parks, beaches and of course the jetty itself. The jetty allows for stunning silhouettes at sunset, as well as light and airy photos with a beachy feel.  There is an area the dogs can run on-lead on the beach, and those keen on swimming would be quite at home.

This location can be busy, so midweek sessions are preferable.

Riverdale Park

30 mins from the CBD

A hidden slice of greenery tucked behind the Logan Hospital.
Ideal for natural portraits- plenty of grass, wooden fences and pockets of bushland. As well as lakes, wooden bridges and long grasses. Wide open expanses ideal for those who love fetching!

7th Brigade Park

20 mins from the CBD

Another park with plenty of grass and pockets of bushland.

A long winding path and a few wooden bridges here and there.
Lots of room for running!
This location can be busy on weekends, so is best suited to midweek sessions.

The Spit - Gold Coast Beach

1hr 15 mins from the CBD and 20 mins from Surfers Paradise

Endless sand, room to run and waves.
With the Gold Coast skyline, sand pumping jetty and sand dunes add interest.

This location can be busy on weekends, so is best suited to midweek sessions.

Bunyaville Conservation Park

Just over 30 mins from the CBD

A natural Aussie-eucalypt forest.
Before entering the trails there are grass expanses for fetch games.
There are boardwalks, some bridges, logs and many natural paths.

The Little  Creek

40 mins from the CBD and 10 mins from Bunyaville Conservation Park

A path of greenery, rock stairs, and natural rocks along a small waterway. In Spring, there are flowers along fencelines suitable for portrait backgrounds. This location is only small, so can be combined with a portion of Bunyaville National Park (10 minutes away) for some portrait diversity. This area is very busy on weekends and therefore unavailable for shoots.

Samford Fields

40 mins from the CBD

A field of long grasses, with paths cut into the middle, for country style images.

The grassy field backs onto the river, for a little bit of diversity in your final gallery.

Montville

1 hr 30 mins from the CBD

The Main Street of Montville offers small village feel, with many unique points of interest.

In addition to this, there is a large park at the rear of the street that offers

plenty of greenery, a lake and windmills.

Gold Coast Regional Botanic Gardens

Just over an hour from the CBD and 10 mins from Surfers Paradise

A gorgeous garden location with rows of mature trees, small sections of eucalyptus,

wide open fields and even a tiny section of beach for some water play shots.
