Meatloaf Dog Birthday Cake Recipe | Kokoda's 10th Birthday!

Meat and cheese are two of Kokoda's favourite things, so to celebrate the big ONE ZERO I came up with a cake recipe that incorporated the two. I hope your pup loves it as much as he did!

Meatloaf Cake with Sweet Potato Icing

- A Dog birthday Cake Recipe -

Ingredients Cake: 500g beef mince 2 eggs 1/2 cup vegetables grated + moisture squeezed out (carrot and zucchini used) 1/2 cup coconut flour 1/2 cup grated cheese 1tsp minced garlic *See notes Icing: 1 sweet potato Dash of milk or water

Method: Cake: Preheat oven to 180C Crack two eggs into a bowl and whisk Add all other ingredients and mix until combined Shape into any shape on a baking paper lined flat tray - I chose to mould it into numbers. This could easily be shaped into a bone, or simple patties! * See notes Bake for approximately 25 minutes, or until it begins to brown. Cool on a wire tray Decorate as desired and serve! Icing: While cake is baking, peel and boil the sweet potato When it is tender, drain water and mash. Add milk (or water/almond milk etc) to reach desired consistency. (I wanted to pipe the mashed potato, so did put it through a blender to get out any chunks) Notes: 1. Garlic is safe for dogs in small amounts, but of course leave this out if you aren't comfortable with it. 2. Keep in mind cooking times may need to be adjusted for smaller or larger shapes. Just keep an eye on it and remove when the edges are beginning to brown.
