Zali's Signature Session at New Farm Park

Zali's mum, Sarah, was the the runner up in my Mothers Day Pup Mum competition. She wanted somewhere with a garden feel and greenery, so I suggested New Farm Park.

As soon as I pulled into the car park I knew we were in for a treat. It's the time of year the orange trumpet vines are flowering in their bright orange glory! In addition to the colour everywhere, there were new flowers in the garden beds and a cloudless, bright blue sky. Essentially, a sun-loving photographers dream! Zali is a little bichon frise x poodle and whilst small, is not lacking in any personality! She has legs that would make any Victoria's Secret model jealous, and the prettiest brown eyes. Her mum mentioned she has real trouble taking nice photos of her that don't result in a big, shapeless black blob. It's a very common issue for the parents of black dogs- especially FLUFFY black dogs! So, capturing some nice portraits that show her in her true glory was our mission for the afternoon. I like to do New Farm Park in a loop, starting in the park and then circling back around to that lovely brick wall at the end of the session so it's not in direct sunlight. So that’s exactly what we did!

It didn't take long for Zali to get a hang of modelling, after al, she is naturally gorgeous and quite a fan of chicken treats.

This next image is the one her mum chose for their canvas wall art, and i am so glad she did. I just love it!

It's no secret that I'm a fan of bright, and vibrant colours- so I was in love with the flowers on this golden trumpet vine!

Then back to the wall! Look at those long legs.

And whoops, I did it again: the "just one more shot!" We headed back into the park to take advantage of a rather amazing sunset, until we well and truly ran out of light.
